1. Introduction & Acceptance
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Linea AI receptionist service ("Service") operated by Competitive Scale ("we," "our," or "us"). By accessing our website at hirelinea.ai or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
2. Description of Service
Linea is an AI-powered receptionist service that provides the following capabilities for your business:
- Call handling: Answering inbound phone calls on behalf of your business 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in 20+ languages.
- Appointment scheduling: Booking, confirming, and rescheduling appointments directly into your connected calendar or practice management system.
- Lead capture: Collecting caller information including name, contact details, reason for calling, and urgency level.
- Call summaries: Generating and delivering AI-produced summaries of each call to your designated email or messaging platform.
- Intelligent routing: Triaging calls based on urgency, department, or inquiry type according to your configured rules.
- Integration: Connecting with third-party business tools such as JaneApp, Jobber, Clio, ServiceTitan, Google Calendar, Calendly, QuickBooks, Square, and others.
3. Eligibility
The Service is intended for use by businesses and their authorized representatives. By using the Service, you represent that:
- You are at least 18 years of age.
- You have the authority to bind your business to these Terms.
- You will use the Service only for lawful business purposes.
4. Account & Access
To use the Service, you must complete our onboarding process, which includes:
- Providing accurate and complete business information.
- Configuring your AI receptionist with your business hours, services, and call handling preferences.
- Connecting any third-party integrations you wish to use.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Engage in any unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive activity.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse callers or any other individuals.
- Transmit spam, unsolicited messages, or misleading information through the Service.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks connected to the Service.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of any part of the Service.
- Use the Service in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair the Service.
6. AI-Generated Responses
You acknowledge and agree that:
- Linea uses artificial intelligence to conduct phone conversations. While our AI is designed to be accurate and professional, it may occasionally produce incorrect, incomplete, or inappropriate responses.
- The Service is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, or other specialized advice. Linea handles scheduling and general inquiries; it does not provide clinical diagnoses, legal counsel, financial advice, or any other professional guidance.
- You are responsible for reviewing call summaries and correcting any errors in appointments, client details, or other information captured by the AI.
- We continuously improve our AI but do not guarantee error-free performance.
7. Third-Party Integrations
The Service integrates with third-party platforms at your direction. You acknowledge that:
- We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or performance of third-party services.
- Your use of third-party integrations is subject to those platforms' own terms of service and privacy policies.
- You are responsible for maintaining valid credentials and permissions for any connected third-party services.
- We may add, modify, or discontinue support for specific integrations with reasonable notice.
8. Fees & Payment
- The Service is offered on a subscription basis. Pricing details are provided during the setup process and may vary based on call volume, features, and integrations.
- Fees are billed monthly unless otherwise agreed. All fees are quoted in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless otherwise stated.
- You agree to provide accurate billing information and authorize us to charge your designated payment method.
- Late payments may result in suspension of Service. Accounts with balances overdue by more than 30 days may be terminated.
- We reserve the right to adjust pricing with 30 days' written notice before the start of your next billing cycle.
9. Intellectual Property
- Our property: The Service, including all software, AI models, algorithms, website content, branding, and documentation, is owned by Competitive Scale and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service.
- Your data: You retain ownership of all business data, caller information, and content you provide to or generate through the Service. We do not claim ownership of your data.
- License: You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to use your data solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
- We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including lost revenue, lost clients, or business interruption.
- Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the fees you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
- We are not liable for any actions taken or not taken based on AI-generated responses, including missed appointments, incorrect information relayed to callers, or any resulting damages.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Competitive Scale, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
12. Termination
- You may cancel your subscription at any time by contacting us at hello@hirelinea.ai. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
- We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms, fail to pay fees, or if we determine that your use of the Service poses a risk to us or other users.
- Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will retain your data for 90 days after termination, after which it will be deleted unless otherwise required by law.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and notify active clients via email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance.
